Privacy Policy

Effective: March 22, 2026

What We Collect

TreatJar collects the minimum information needed to provide our service:

  • Account information: Parent email address and display name
  • Family data: Children's first names, ages, and avatar preferences
  • App usage: Stars earned, jobs completed, rewards redeemed, and goals set
  • Device information: Device type and OS version for app compatibility

How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and maintain the TreatJar service
  • To sync your family's data across devices
  • To send notifications you've opted into (streaks, approvals)
  • To improve the app experience

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

TreatJar is designed for use by parents with their children. We do not collect personal information directly from children. All child profiles are created and managed by the parent account holder. Children's first names and ages are stored solely to personalize the in-app experience.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS) with row-level security policies ensuring each family can only access their own data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase: Database and authentication
  • Apple: App Store, StoreKit for subscriptions
  • Amazon Associates: Product links in the store (affiliate links)

Your Rights

You can request a full export of your family's data or delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Account deletion includes a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of TreatJar after changes constitutes acceptance.
